A brand built around the rider
Founded in 2014, Hello Quality Equestrian began with a clear purpose: to make beautifully crafted leather footwear that responds to the way real riders live, work and compete.
Our customers include competitive riders, equestrian families, lifestyle customers and people who value authentic materials, thoughtful design and a more personal approach to fit. Today, the brand serves customers across South Africa, the SADC region and the wider African equestrian community.
From a small beginning to a focused footwear house
HQE began with three pairs of imported riding boots in a one-bedroom flat in Green Point, Cape Town. That early experience revealed a problem familiar to many riders: standard footwear does not always accommodate different calves, foot widths, insteps or leg proportions.
No two riders are built the same, and no single boot should be expected to fit everyone. That insight became the foundation for our work. We moved from trading footwear towards our own production journey, using rider feedback, testing and continuous refinement to improve fit, comfort and performance.
What began as a determined response to a genuine need has grown into a respected equestrian footwear brand with a growing range of ready-to-wear, made-to-order and custom options.
Fit is never an afterthought
A riding boot should do more than look elegant. It should feel balanced around the foot and lower leg, work naturally with the stirrup and support the rider through long hours in the saddle or around the yard.
